Tom’s Amusement, an illegal underground casino operation in Phoenix, Arizona, has been thwarted by police.
Arizona Republic View Comments The White Mountain Apache Tribe late Sunday announced its casino would temporarily suspend operations after two employees tested positive for COVID-19. CASINO ARIZONA ENTERTAINMENT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. The Showroom at Casino Arizona™ in Scottsdale is a 250-seat cabaret-style music and entertainment venue featuring some of the most popular performers from the world of jazz, country music, rock and popular music, as well as comedy, production reviews, dance and magic. Nowhere else in Phoenix will you find this level.
According to the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG), the investigations into Tom’s Amusement, otherwise known as Tom’s Warehouse, began in March 2019.
During searches, seven video poker gaming devices, six ATM kiosks and $7,000 in cash were among the list of items seized.
Six individuals alleged to have been involved in the operation were detained, interviewed but later released pending charges.
The ADG will seek charges including money laundering, possession of gambling devices, the sale of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ted Vogt, ADG Director, said: 'The Arizona Department of Gaming takes its duty to enforce the gambling laws in our state seriously.
'We appreciate our ongoing partnerships with the Phoenix Police Department and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in our efforts to stop illegal gambling and its associated crimes.'

The Desert Diamond Casino West Valley 200 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series event held at the Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.
The race was first run in 1999 as the Outback Steakhouse 200. It became the Bashas' Supermarkets 200 in 2002. Following realignment of the two Xfinity Series races, the Arizona 200 took over the November slot. Austin Cindric is the most recent winner of the event.
The 2016 race was held at night and serves as the sixth race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs.
