In Casino Royale, the villa played the role of an exclusive hospital where James Bond recovered from his encounter with Le Chiffre.
Scenes were shot on the flat lawned area under the huge shaped tree.
In Star Wars Episode 2: Attack Of The Clones, the villa is transported to the lake district of the planet of Naboo. Padme and Anakin get married here under the tree by the old church towers.
Scenes were also shot in the small harbour and on the loggia, where Anakin looks out across the lake after being awoken by a bad dream about his mother.

Villa del Balbianello is located next to Lake Como, Italy. Built for Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini at the end of the XVIII century, the Villa stands on the tip of a steep promontory overlooking Lake Como, almost opposite Bellagio. The same villa can also be seen in Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones. The Villa is now owned by Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano (FAI). A private, non-profit trust, FAI receives sites of historic, artistic and naturalist value through donations, bequests or loans for use, restores them, opens them to the public and ensures that everyone can enjoy them.
